Climate Activist from Uganda

Incorporating climate change education into school curricula is key to ensuring youth grow up understanding the importance of conservation of the environment because their minds are still in the process of learning, receiving and accepting what they hear and adapt very fast.

This will mean giving lifetime solutions because what we learnt in school is what we practice today.Activities that help conserve the environment can be introduced like clean-up operations, workshops, recycling, switching off classroom lights when not using them. When young people are empowered to believe that their actions can make a difference, the whole story will change.

Evelyn engages in the Rise Up Movement, where she works as a national coordinator. She is part of Fridays for Future and is also an Arctic angel for Global Choices, a youth-led intergenerational action network.
